Feel Good – Be Happy

“If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy, and inspires your hopes.” – Andrew Carnegie

Woman jumps in a green field

It’s interesting how things change over time including our body. I grew up having to eat extra calories to gain weight.  Nylons sagged on my skinny legs. I could eat stacks of banana pancakes for breakfast and sundaes before bed.  Now, I understand what it means to have to watch what I eat.  Tired of feeling bloated and heavy after a sleepless night with stomach pain, I needed some new goals.

Eat smaller meals, chew slowly, savor each bite, drink water frequently, enjoy benefits of green tea, exercise more, wine in moderation. I started with a mild diet.  I noticed a difference immediately feeling lighter.  The next day I dropped two pounds.  The sadness hanging over me lately from my sister, Missy’s illness lifted.  I felt light hearted for the first time in a while.  I thought, it feels good to feel good.

After an invigorating Pilates session, my mood was evident. I chatted with another instructor whose name interestingly is also Missy.  Noticing my cheerfulness she said, “Wow – Everyone is happy today.”

Do something to lighten your load today and make you feel good.
