Let Go and Trust the Universe

Surrender to what is. Let go of what was.  Have faith in what will be.” – Sonia Ricotti

Skylight - Window to Heaven

I love how things pop up just at the right moment when you need it. When I see or hear something multiple times, I know the universe is speaking to me.  Recently, I read Pam Grout’s newsletter about how your thoughts can create reality when you have faith and trust the universe.  Shortly after, I received an Email from Daily Om, Things We Can’t Control about letting go and trusting life will unfold exactly the way it should. When dealing with difficult situations or worrying about what’s going to happen, this quote is a reminder to let go of what was in the past and also expectations about controlling things the way we want them to be. When we struggle with challenges and obstacles, we become entangled in them like being stuck in quick sand or seaweed. If we stay calm and let go of wrestling with life, the universe will bring us what we need.

It’s perfectly described by the Chinese philosophy of Tao Te Ching: “When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be. When I let go of what I have, I receive what I need.”

  1. How very timely & appropriate this is for me.
Sometimes we need this reminder that we have to trust in the synchronicity of life & know we haven’t come this far in life to come skreeching to a halt because we can’t control the obstacles that are placed before us.
Facing an uncertain situation & & finally realizing I no longer have to explain myself or defend my right to be, I just recently let go. Still not sure how or why or even where I’ll be in a few months time, I know in my heart, no matter what, it will be ok.
Thanks for posting this. Your timing was flawless.

    • Dear Edye- I’m glad this helps you know you’ll be ok. Timing and synchronicity are not coincidental. They’re messages from the universe. It’s not easy to let go and trust we’ll be ok. The more we practice it, the greater our faith and strength become.
Mom’s favorite quote was: “Let go and let God.” Love, Michelle

  2. Thank you for sharing your blog with me Michellle. This entry really speaks to me right now with this difficult time I am going through. I have yet to be at the surrender stage, although I hope to be soon. I have been in so much emotional pain, that I have had a hard time seeing the light at the end of the tunnel this week. Your words inspire me

    • Katie: It’s good to know this message spoke to you. I find things come into our lives just when we need them. Sorry you’re going through such a difficult time. It’s not easy to surrender and trust things will be ok. What helps is being connected to family and friends for support and taking time to do things that heal our spirit. I hope these inspiring posts help you heal. xo
